Start of the name pool...

We know it is very early, but we are thinking a lot about names! We thought we were decided on the topic, but now have quite a large pool of names. Take your pick! We do know the middle names...Christopher for a boy and Ann for a girl. We also would like to keep the /k/ sound if we find a good match (Chris/Katelyn/Clough). I also kind of like the idea to have an Irish name, as we found out we were expecting on St. Patrick's Day.

Boys:
Aidan (for Mom)
Brady
Bryce
Brennan
Collin
Logan
Connor
Acheson (for Dad)
Liam

Girls:

Ava
Chloe (for Tracy)
Kara

Ella
Ellie
Alanna
McKenna
Elyse
Elsie

5 weeks 5 days

This morning we went to see Tina, a nurse practioner at Dedham Medical Associates. I have seen her before for gyncological needs, but this would be the first she heard I was pregnant. We went to discuss our concerns of possible low progesterone. The appointment went well and I love Tina...but she is just too positive! She thinks everything will be fine and said she'd check my progesterone levels at my first OB appointment on April 22nd. So I guess I have to keep worrying for a few more weeks.

The biggest bummer....she said my first ultrasound would probably not be until I am 18 weeks (my birthday by the way!)!!!!!!!!! We are hoping we will at least get to hear the heartbeat on a doppler before then.

23 days until our first OB appointment!

5 weeks 4 days

It won't be confirmed until we see the OB on April 22nd, but if all is on schedule I am 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Here is what is going on with the baby this week:

Week 5 of Pregnancy: Fetal Heart Development
Your baby looks a lot like a tadpole this week, with a rudimentary head and a tail. But don't worry — there's no frog in your future. In fact, you're fewer than eight months away from holding a real prince (or princess) in your arms, as your baby's heart and organs develop.
It takes a lot of developing to become a baby — all the major (and minor) bodily systems (digestive, circulatory, nervous, and so on) and organs (heart, lungs, stomach…you get the idea) have to form from scratch. One of the first systems to be operational is the circulatory (or blood) system — along with its companion organ: the heart. When you are 5 weeks pregnant, your baby's heart is made up of two tiny channels called heart tubes — and they're already hard at work, beating to their own drummer (it will be weeks before those beats become coordinated). When those tubes fuse together, your baby will have a fully functioning heart (though it almost certainly already has its grip on yours). Also in the works this week are several other organs, including the neural tube (the precursor to your baby's brain and spinal cord), which hasn't yet sealed, but by next week, that open-door policy is over.

24 days until we get to see our little bean on an ultrasound!

5 weeks

here we stand at 5 weeks in to the 9 month long journey and i still have yet to tell anyone the news (except for immediate family) and we're eagerly awaiting the day we can tell everyone about our secret...

so let's roll it back a few weeks.. St. patrick's day i came home to Katelyn waiting for me on the steps with an "I'm sorry" homemade card.. She then dropped the news on me that i would be riding test track by myself in the summer and presented me with a baby's first Christmas ornament.. totally shocked and excited!!

so now here we are today, our baby right now is the size of a sweet pea and has a fully functional heart. due to join this world on Thanksgiving day we begin the long but short journey to having our first child..

soon we'll kick off the marathon of doctor's visits galore and for once they wont be for me.. I'm looking forward to learning a lot and getting shopping... i cant believe all the clothes we've already bought and i just want to buy everything i see,,, soon enough..

and for those who are wondering, we dont plan to find out the sex at this point.. apologies in advance for trying to find unisex clothes cause its pretty hard...

that's all for now..
